The OSU School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers Bachelor of Science degrees in mechanical (BSME), and aerospace (BSAE)
engineering. A premedical option is also offered. These are all fully
accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation
Board for Engineering and Technology under the criteria established for
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering programs.
At the graduate level,
Master's and Ph.D. degrees allow the student to specialize in a wide variety
of relevant technical topics. The School is one of the largest
degree-granting units in the College of Engineering, Architecture, and
Technology. Mechanical and aerospace engineers are key professionals in the
invention, design and manufacture of devices, vehicles, machines and
systems that meet the changing needs of our society.
Mechanical engineers
may also apply their expertise to producing, using and conserving all forms
of energy. Aerospace engineers apply their expertise to solving problems in
high-speed ground transportation, environmental pollution, and meteorology,
as well as being the key professionals in the design and manufacture of air
and space vehicles for transportation, exploration and military purposes. |
