The Oklahoma State University Edmon Low Library contains over 1.5 million volumes and 2.1 million microfilm units. There is a
computer-assisted literature search and retrieval system. The library contains a complete set of U.S. patents and is a regional depository of
the federal government. Most library functions are automated. For example, CD-ROM databases use laser technology to store and retrieve data on
metal-coated discs. Each disc holds over 600 megabytes of data. The data may be bibliographic citations, complete texts of books or articles,
compilations of numerical data, or graphic images. Retrieved data may be printed to paper or downloaded to floppy discs. Formatted discs for
downloading may be borrowed from each reference desk or from the Microform & Media Room, 1st floor.
A wide variety of research centers and laboratories provide facilities for the activities of students.
The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Oklahoma State University currently has 19 active graduate faculty members. Many of the
faculty have international reputations for excellence in their fields. All of the faculty are active in research and sponsored research contracts are in progress.
