Prof. Komanduri will be presented with this award from the International Honor Awards Committee of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers on June 3, 2005 in Baltimore, Maryland.
It is one of seven major International Honor Awards presented annually by the society. The award is presented for technical accomplishments in the field of manufacturing processes, methods, or systems.
OSU Eminent Faculty Award
At the OSU Fall Convocation, October 14, Dr. Ranga Komanduri was awarded the OSU Eminent Faculty Award, which is the highest and most prestigious award given to a faculty member. This award comes with a $10,000 cash prize, and is given to one OSU faculty member annually. Dr. Komanduri is only the 4th OSU faculty member to receive this award. The award recognizes a faculty member who has made sustained contributions to scholarly-creative activity, teaching, and service.
Invitation to be a Distinguished Honorary Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for a period of two years
Appointed as a Distinguished Honorary Professor in Mechanical Engineering for a two year period at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology - Kanpur. The recognition includes a daily honorarium and local hospitality during Dr. Komanduri's visits to IIT-Kanpur. IIT-Kanpur is one of the most prestigious universities in India, as well as in the world, and such recognition from IIT-Kanpur is very rare. |
