A
tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate
Professor, or Professor is available January 2008, or later, starting date
negotiable. The successful candidate will participate in the rapid growth
of the School’s aerospace engineering program, and therefore a demonstrated
commitment to the aerospace field is required. Applicants should have
teaching and research interests specifically in an area of aerospace
engineering. It is expected that the successful candidate will have the
ability and desire to teach undergraduate courses in aerospace engineering,
and graduate courses that support the candidate’s research. Excellent
experimental, analytical, and computational skills are required. Good oral
and written communication skills, as judged by both students and faculty,
are also necessary. An earned Ph.D. in aerospace or mechanical engineering
is required. The successful candidate must have demonstrated potential
for excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and for
developing a strong externally funded research program. The research areas
of the successful applicant must be in a rapidly developing area in which
there are strong possibilities for competitive extramural funding. Post
doctoral or industry research experience is preferred. Applications will be
